The following three items are REQUIRED for admission to the test center:

  1. LSAT Admission Ticket: You must present and sign page 1 of your admission ticket at the test center check-in table. The printout of your admission ticket must display the photo that you uploaded through your LSAC online account. The photo displayed on your admission ticket must meet our LSAT Admission Ticket Photo Requirements. (Do not bring pages 2–5 of your ticket.) Your ticket may be used only for the test date printed on it.
  2. Valid, Government-Issued Photo Identification: You will be required to present a valid, government-issued ID. The ID must be current (or have expired within 90 days of your test date) and must contain a recent and recognizable photo of you. The first and last name listed on your ID must match exactly the first and last name printed on your LSAT Admission Ticket. (Make sure all of your biographical data is consistent.) More information is available at Identification Accepted for LSAT Admission
  3. Pencils: Bring three or four sharpened No. 2 or HB wooden pencils with good erasers. (Mechanical pencils and mechanical erasers are prohibited.) All answers must be recorded on your LSAT answer sheet in pencil. Pencils must be used for the writing sample as well. Pencils and sharpeners WILL NOT be supplied at the test center.

TO SUMMARIZE:

Item #1 to Bring on LSAT Test Day: Yourself.

Item #2 to Bring on LSAT Test Day: Pencils, an eraser and a sharpener. Not #3, not #1, but good old #2 pencils. No mechanical pencils. There’s no need to go overboard and bring dozens of pencils to the LSAT, but it’s good to have a few so you know you won’t find yourself running short, or having to pause to sharpen mid-section.  You may want to bring one that’s less than super-sharp for bubbling your LSAT answer sheet.

Item #3 to Bring on LSAT Test Day: A snack and a drink. Not the alcoholic kind — that’s for later. The drink needs to be in a plastic bottle or in a juice box. The snack should be packaged such that it doesn’t make a mess all over your other stuff.

Item #4 to Bring on LSAT Test Day: An analog wristwatch. No digital watches, no stopwatches, no pocket watches.

Item #5 to Bring on LSAT Test Day: A clear Ziplock bag, max size one gallon. It’s the only thing you’re allowed to use to hold all of the above LSAT supplies.

Item #1 NOT to Bring on LSAT Test Day: Your phone. Don’t **** with LSAC. You will get kicked out of the LSAT test center for having your phone with you. It’s not worth it.

Item #2 NOT to Bring on LSAT Test Day: Anything you wear on your head. The only way you can get around this one is if it’s religious apparel. Giantology, Dodgerism, and the like are not valid religions.

Item #3 NOT to Bring on LSAT Test Day: Earplugs. They’re simply not allowed at the LSAT.

Item #4 NOT to Bring on LSAT Test Day: Anything else that’s not allowed.
